“Play is the highest form of research”- Albert Einstein. I am looking forward to great years at DNS! A year where we can learn through play, engage with friends & and begin to soar. I, along with my siblings, attended DNS as a child, and now my own children, nieces & nephews do, too! I graduated from Bowling Green State University with my bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and received my 4th & 5th Endorsements. Jake and I have been married for 10 years, he is also a teacher here in Vermilion. Together we have three children: Kip 7, Kase 5 & Kapri 3. I enjoy gardening, chickens, fresh cut flowers & spending time with my family.

Being a teacher is rewarding in so many ways. I have taught for a total of ten years at DNS and each class holds special memories for me. My two sons, Eric and Ryan, both attended DNS. My husband Kevin and I love living in this lakefront community and all the activities and opportunities that it provides. Helping children to have fun learning through play and academic activities is a passion and blessing for me. Each new school year is another chance to spend time doing what I love!

“The art of teaching is the art in assisting in discovery.” - Mark Von Doren. I believe that it’s of the utmost importance that children, especially preschoolers are provided opportunities to learn through discovery, play and through hands on activities. I attended Bowling Green State University and obtained my Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. This is my 14th year teaching preschool, and my 12th year here at DNS. I attended DNS as a child and I am a mother of 4 children all who attended DNS and a grandmother of 10, many who also have attended DNS. I am a church member here at United Church of Christ Congregational and am the owner of The Honeysuckle Hive, where I along with my daughters are florists. I enjoy spending time with all of my children, grandchildren & my husband of 30 years. I am looking forward to the fun filled year ahead.
